Tappara was the first in Finland to bring fan shoes for own supporters, and at the same time being also a pioneer in Europe in this category. High-quality fan products have become an increasingly important part of modern club activities – not just as supporter products, but as genuinely usable products that strengthen the sense of community and the club’s identity.

BrandShoes has been collaborating with the Finnish ice hockey Liiga club Tappara for almost two years. The first production batches sold out quickly, and there are no signs of their popularity waning.

Two different models were launched in the 2024–2025 season: a more simplified shoe suitable for everyday use and a more striking game day model highlighting the club’s colors. Both models achieved strong demand and were sold out during the season. Interest in the products has remained high, and the fans’ enthusiasm is reflected in the constant demand for new models.

– The collaboration went really easily from the start, and a common vision was quickly found. Previous experiences created a good starting point for the work, says Tommi Rintala, sales manager at Tappara-Shop.

Teemu Tuominen, who was responsible for designing the shoes at BrandShoes, describes the process as close collaboration, in which the views of both the club and the supporters were taken into account.

– Together we came up with different ideas, of which I made digital prints. They were developed over several rounds, and finally the best models were chosen. Before making the final decision, we wanted to hear the supporters opinion, which was the basis for selecting the final shoes for production, says Tuominen.

In addition to the design, the shoes have received a lot of praise for their comfort and quality.

– The shoes are really good. From the first try, it was clear that they would be up to par with any well-known brand in terms of quality. They are stylish, fit well and are suitable for use all year round.

– The quality has been excellent, and there have been no complaints. Customers immediately notice the comfort of the shoe, Rintala says.

BrandShoes has been involved in supporting Tappara’s event sales at Nokia Arena match events together with the Tappara-Shop team.

– The cooperation has been smooth and, above all, functional. The BrandShoes team meets the fans nicely and makes sales natural. As an organization, we are very satisfied with the cooperation.
